Trying to find a therapist of any kind that isnt booked until next year around this town is not possible.

I have anxiety because of my ED. I have a serious fear of being fat. Does this qualify as a significant source of anxiety? Does anybody have any suggestions on how to control my anxiety to keep my ED under control?

Some beginning ideas here:Eating disorders and anxiety disorders

Have you found a good eating disorder forum online yet for help? There are also resources here at PC and my guess is that addressing anxiety will help no matter what. Do you have access to a public library? You could get books on relaxation, stress relief, eating disorders etc.

Are there any in person support groups in your area available?

Good luck and best wishes for your journey. anxiety or just my ED?

Anxiety can be caused by almost anything and sometimes nothing (no reason)!

Try finding a good support group! Or maybe check in the next town for a psychiatrist? I drive 50 minutes once a month to mine and its been a big help! A little driving is worth getting help! Good luck!

Have you tried talking with your primary care doc? They can often prescribe medication for anxiety, depression, etc. You might try that if you can't get in with a therapist soon...

Yes, I agree, about speaking to your Dr. right away.

Tell him you can't get a T, and he/she might be able to assist you in referring you to a counseling center that treats EDs ... and also about any possible anti-anxiety medication you can take, along with adding or eliminating things from your diet to help your anxiety.

Did you know the additive msg in alot of processed foods, and some chinese foods and lawry's seasoned salt can cause anxiety, vivid dreams, nightmares, and worse.

We have to watch what we put in our bodies regardless of illness or great health.

Good luck with your Dr. I'm sure he will help you get on the right path to see your recovery through.

peace,
nightbird
