Does anyone have an issue where they constantly check their pulse? I do this and whenever my pulse isn't 80 bpm or below, I get anxious. Totally illogical, and I pretty much hate it ...

Yes, I am constantly checking my pulse, and I am sooooo sick of it!!!!! I just wish I could get back to normal and not do this anymore. If it is higher than 90 I am trying to get it to go lower and if it gets in the lower 60's even if I just woke up I am trying to get it up. I never have a problem getting it to go up. But when it is high I freak out and it goes into the 150+ range and I have a panic attack.

I could hardly believe what I was reading! I have done this very thing for years.........and just like jkarm, said if my pulse was a little high I would be so scared that my pulse would sky rocket. One time I went to the emergency room and my pulse rate was 167 for no reason at all other than I was scared for nothing! WoW nice to know I'm not alone........

I check my pulse fairly frequently - it always tends to be a little fast due to all the meds I'm on. But I'm used to it now, so I don't freak out about it anymore.

this used to me. Sometimes i still do it once in awhile. I was cleaning out a drawer of papers the other day and found this piece of paper, when it was real bad one of the night shifts i worked i checked my pulse like 20 times that night and wrote it all down.

I thought I was the only one who did this! Sometimes it feels like my heart is racing, so I feel like I need to check. Then I make things worse by googling "fast pulse" and thinking of all the things that might be wrong with me...

I check my pulse ALL the time too. I also make my husband do it just to make sure my heart rate is'nt too slow because I am afraid if it gets too low I might pass out or if it gets too high I'll have a heart attack.

I too have checked by pulse and even my blood pressure during panic attacks.
Sometimes it feels like my heart stopped beating which I know is ridiculous and so I check it to make sure I'm still kicking. Wow I am not the only one! |
