Hello Everyone

I am currently having a anxiety attack or panic attack and i am stressed out about the number of assignments and test coming up this month. I feel overwhelmed. I feel shakey inside. Thoughts racing. Feel like taking more pills. Feel like vomitting.

I am scared! I dont know how im going to make it through this month.

Not sure if this will help, but what sometimes works for me is to write out everything I have to do and put it in order of priority - that way it doesn't feel like everything has to be done at once. It could be scary seeing it all written out like that, though, so be careful.

Good luck, anyway! I'm in a similar position at the moment, and it's no fun.

I think this is a terrific suggestion! Prioitize, write everything down according to when it needs to be done and start working the timeline... I know it is tough right now, and you really feel overwhelmed, but know that you can do this if you tackle it in baby steps....one small step at a time...before you know it you have finished your timeline...

Good luck to you. If you need further assistance, please feel free to email me...

Ok, I'm incredibly in the same boat like 99% of my existence. Ha. I hope you are feeling a little better now...

Here's what I did yesterday to deal with my stress.

I took index cards and my syllabi... I wrote individual assignments on each notecard... then, in my hands, I had a stack of everything left to do for the semester. The title of the assignment on one side... the directions on the other side... due date mixed in...

I also made countdown cards with the dates left for class on one side and countdown on the other side... I'm getting ready to rip up the number 15 card... only 14 more to go!!!

Professionally, I'd tell you to only do what you can handle and listen to your body's warning signs. Pace yourself and grow your exposure in small increments so that you aren't just shocking yourself into compliance. You want to fix the behavior with a total rehab/makeover... not just a temporary band-aid.

Personally, as someone who has been there for over 10 years at the college level, I'd tell you to push through it, writing that paper isn't very likely to cause you to stroke out. Finishing that paper will be a HUGE weight off your shoulders and the closer you get to the end, the happier you'll be and the less anxiety you'll feel.

Good luck with things. You can do this, I know you can...
Thanks for this!

I make a lot of to-do lists also, but for me trying to prioritize/order/sort would make the situation worse. My advice is to put a lot of simple, minor things on the list (like sweeping the floor) so you can get some early positive feedback crossing things off.
Thanks for this!

Hi Zen888

All I can say is try to relax. Dont go into rush or let those things in your mind overcome you. You should stay calm and collected. Think positively and never entertain such negative thoughts. As I always keep on telling, it is all in the mind. It is a law of attraction. If you let those anxiety and panicky overcome you, chances are, they definitely eat you out.
