Is there something wrong with me? I feel anxious all the time. I've read about this GAD thing and think I might have it. I've gone to the doc's before- and they can't explain these symptoms but refuse to see any mental problems or try to fix any if I do have one with meds. It's horrible. My insurance only has one nurse listed for mental care help and I don't know what to do. I really really want help, but it seems there is no one out there willing to help me- which is causing more anxiety.
Things are okay for the most part. But I feel alone. I feel like no one understands. This is kind of my last hope. Can someone help- or give me advice on what to do next?

I just wanted to let you know I read your post. I'm hoping you keep trying to get the help you need. You shouldn't have to go to so much trouble, right? I understand anxiety very well, so feel free to message me if you want.

Hi new and anxious,

I still remember what the anxiety was like when it first kicked in, and the doctor saying some big words that I didn't understand and then giving me pills that didn't work.

Learning to cope is the best medicine in my experience, and getting people around you to understand that you have a distressing medical condition.

First off, I would try to get to a doctor that can treat the condition, it is widely understood these days, but I don't know what the services are like in your area.

Keep in touch, and let us know how you are.

Godd thoughts to you,

Myzen, new and anxious

shuis,

If possible can you see a different Dr. even if you pay out of pocket? It may be worth it if it is possible? Or do you have a free clinic around where you live?

Stay safe.

Kim

HI.. shuis!!

Welcome to Insurance Hell!!!

I am in it too! Let me ask.. Is it the area you live.. limited providers? OR Is it just one in your area that is in your network?

IF there is others you can see w/in a 30 mile ratios of you but not in your network your insurance can not force you to see the one you do not like or can not get into! Call your insurance back and have them "add" or "make a exception" for the one you want to see. They can do this! It make take about 1-2 weeks but it can be done!

If you need insurance help.. I can help you (I am not a pro.. but I do know Insurance) I would be glad to give you my number.. Or I could call you to help force your insurance to get you more help in your area.. I am doing the same thing on mine!

My insurance had no providers in my area.. so, they HAVE to let me choose who I am seeing and pay them as they are 'IN NETWORK". What state are you in? Each state also has different rules they have to run by.

Can you try any more family practice docs or internists? Many aren't comfortable treating mental illnesses but others are and have enough experience to be skilled in it. I saw my regular family practice nurse practitioner for a long time, and she helped me a lot.

Good luck finding a provider!
