I'm sorry it gets laughs from your friends, but you have a real fear of this, and it would probably help you to see a therapist or some other type of mental health professional about it. There are medicines that might be able to help you control your fear. I know it may seem odd to some people, but it's very real to you, and you deserve to get help for it.

I am sorry that your friends laugh at your phobia. I usually get made fun of for my phobias too mine are ducks and geese and dragonflies, people seem to find it entertaining but I don't. Sending you lots of hugs.

I am sorry people find your fear amusing. Anxiety is never funny. Honestly, although it may seem odd at first glance, it makes sense to me. Many people are freaked out by snakes and worms. Noodles are kind of like that.... AND actually noodles remind me a lot of some intestinal worms. So, basically, they look a bit like parasites, which we should have an instinctive fear of or repulsion for. While I love noodles, and don't mind worms, and snakes only bother me in certain situations, this fear still makes sense to me.

All fear, no matter what it consists of is NO laughing matter, except to boorish people who have no idea what it really feels like to you!!!! I am sorry the people around you are insensitive and immature. I am not even sure that is the "oddest" phobia around. For your own sake I hope someday you can reclaim your freedom in this area and for right now I hope you will choose to reclaim your dignity and not allow such insensitive dolts to upset you by their reactions to your struggle. i wish you much better friends!!!

I am not sure it is a mental health kind of thing, though with certain kinds of therapy some believe that their phobias can be worked through. Jmo, I think that a completely mentally healthy person(whatever that means LOL) could still have a phobia though certain conditions do make some of us more prone to develop these kind of fears. I agree that all fear is serious, I don't really see why your friends find it funny that you are afraid.
