I had some dental surgery last week and the dr. put me on Vicodin. Well I took one before going to bed a few nights ago and had the strangest dream. I dreamt I was in alot of pain but did'nt have any pain meds or tylenol to take. I am allergic to asprin and any NSAIDS because they all share the same blood thinning chemical and because asprin causes anaphalaxisis in me the drs. never give me any of that. Just acetominophin based pain meds. Anyay, that said, in my dream someone gave me exerderin for migrains (which that was how I found out I am allergic to aspirn because it has asprin in it) and I did'nt know so I took it. Ok, in my dream I had realized what it was and was trying to make myself vomit by putting my fingers down my throat. Well I woke up with my fingers in my throat like in my dream. My throat hurt because my fingernail had scratched it. I know meds like that cause vivid dreams but I was in alot of pain so I took it anyway. Now I am half scared to go to sleep because of waking up like that. Any advice? Because i am really exausted. Thanks you all

how long did the doctor suggest you take the vicoden? since it's been a week i'm hoping the procedure has healed enough that you can just stop taking the vico. then you should sleep ok.

I don't need them anymore. After that dream it will be a long time before I will take them again.

I think that you just had the dream because you had to take a med and you have some med allergies and med allergies are scary! I have some slight med allergies and food allergies and it IS scary! I have also found though that we can control this stuff so we can relax. We can be careful and we can have antihistamines available and if need be, we can get an epi pen. Do you have allergies other than meds? (Hey, fellow Kentuckian!)
