i know this sounds stupid...but i am finalllly feeling better i had a kidney stone. and the pain was HORRIBLE. i dread ever having to feel that way again. and ever since i have been constantly thinking and have been scared that the pains are going to come back even though they wont. but i couldnt even sleep last night because its all i could think about. and today during class i couldnt concentrate....just kept thinking it was gonna come back and i was gonna have to go through that hell again. i dont know what to do!!! or how to stop thinking about this.

A suggestion from my doctor on avoiding kidney stones is to drink lemonade The acidity helps dissolve stones. Hard to believe something that small can cause so much pain.

I think to some degree it is normal after feeling a lot of pain to be afraid of it's return, maybe you could try concentrating on your breathing and feel yourself sitting in your chair, feeling the ground under your feet. Those are some things that may help you calm down, I think with some time the fear will pass or at least that has been my experience.

some good suggestions here, lmg. course ya know i gotta add another..try to do something to distract your mind. it can be anything...and hopefully within a short time frame you will not have this reemergence of the memory of that pain. so glad you are ok now.
