This sounds stupid but I ear a certain song and I feel very anxious and sick inside. Like that old song Broken Wing by MisterMister. I love that song but I can not listen to it because it gives me a knot in my stomach. Alot of songs from the 80's do that to me. Most of them were my mom's favorites when I was a kid. Like Iwanna know what love is was her favorite but i can't listen to it. It's got me confused

I totally get what you're saying. There are some songs that my father used to sing inappropriately around me, and I hear them now, either on the radio, or even if someone else starts to sing them and they just get me in a bad place.

I think it's just like anything else...sometimes smells will trigger, TV shows, thoughts, sights...I think it's pretty much "normal" for people who live with difficult issues.

Certain songs have always triggered me, because I feel some things so deeply. Sometimes if I'm feeling extra sensitive I even feel like crying if I hear a song that I think is beautiful. Other songs bring back memories or past feelings.

"Fade to Black" by Metallica "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd
"Touch of Grey" by Grateful Dead "In My Darkest Hour" by Megadeth
"Garden Party" by Ricky Nelson "Promises Broken" by Soul Asylum
"Blind" by Korn "All Apologies" by Nirvana
"Just like a pill" by Pink "Champagne Supernova" by Oasis

Crap, gotta stop -- sorry, I couldn't resist!

" I don't wanna be the girl that has to fill the silence.
The quiet scares me 'cause it screams the truth.
Please don't tell me that we had that conversation,
'Cause I won't remember, save your breath 'cause what's the use?

Aahh, the night is calling, and it whispers to me softly,
"Come and play". Aahh, I am falling, and if I let myself go
I'm the only one to blame.

I'm safe, up high, nothing can touch me, but why do I feel
this party's over?
No pain, inside, you're like perfection, but how do I feel
this good sober?"
(From the song "Sober", by Pink)
