Ever since I stopped all contact with my ex six months ago, I realized how much I'm learning about myself.

I've been 'experimenting' and took a leap of faith to see a movie by myself. I was so anxious before I walked in and bought a ticket and concession for one. I didn't pay attention to anyone but focused on enjoying myself and the movie. My first film was Boyhood back in September. And since then, I've seen two films by myself. Without shame or much anxiety. I also went out to eat alone too. This is huge for me, especially since I have some issues with social situations and sometimes have trouble being alone. Practice makes... more practice. just thought I'd share!

Thanks everyone. I still get anxiety before every situation where people will see me. But I do OK for the most part. I think the trick that's worked for me is when you act like you don't care, because most of the time they don't either.
