I have been able to move from taking a strong anti-anxiety med three times a day to just an occasional Xanax through my religious faith that God is in control. I'm not trying to turn someone to religion, although I'd like that, but to say that what we think matters.
P.S. I'd been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. |

They gave me Zoloft and something else like 10 years ago to try but my body didn’t seem to except it well. Side-effects were worse then anything. I’m glad you got it down to just the Xanax. My brother micro doses with it and has been well for a long time. Keep going best wishes

I use Buddha methods and have been completely off anxiety meds for years. Anxiety was the first thing they medicated me for. My GAD was severe. I’m not Buddhist but meditation and zen practices help

Practice deep breathing exercises, such as inhaling slowly through your nose & exhaling through your mouth. Engage in physical activity to release tension and boost endorphins. Journal your thoughts and worries to gain perspective. Prioritize self-care activities like getting enough sleep and eating nutritious meals. Take support from trusted friends, family, or professionals. Remember, small steps can lead to significant anxiety reduction.

I'm so glad I found this thread! I use faith/spiritual life to manage life with depression, anxiety and chronic illness but lately I had one of those summer holiday blips that got me off track. I'm kind of glad it happened because I've learned from it but I can't get along without decent spiritual practices being the priority. It feels like I wasted time to come full circle but it's really more a spiral, hopefully.
