........and the effects of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome on focus, brain chatter and brain fog......

Hi everyone!

Sorry for long title. Just wondering if any adults have gone down this path of testing and whether anyone with ADHD or ADD is also dealing with CFS. Do think it makes the CFS symptoms worse? Do you take stimulants to treat ADHD/ADD and how does this impact on CFS symptoms? Any anecdotal information before I attack Google, opinions or feedback welcome please. I also have Aspergers.

I am being psychometrically tested through our local Uni psych Department. I am 36 years old.

Cheers lovely people and thanks in advance,

Michah

Hi Michah,

I'm glad you asked that question, because our pdoc is sending us to get tested for ADD and we have DID, CFS, MS, and Fibro. We can't tell what is ADD and what is our DID, which is what the doc wants to find out. I think there are parts of us that are highly ADD, and some that are not at all. There may be parts that are in the middle, but she is wanting us tested so we have to go see them over there sometime in the near future. What is psychometric testing about? I haven't heard that phrase before. Guess I could look it up on Google myself, but being one of the teens in our system, I'm kind of lazy...LOL.

Hope you find the answers you are seeking from somebody here!

Micah, what is psychometric testing. My PNP used the CAARS assessment on me. This is one of the most widely used assessment tools for adult ADHD. Is that at all like psychometric testing? My PNP also worked hard to distinguish ADHD symptoms from depression and anxiety. It can all get kind of tangled.

Here is a link to a description of the CAARS:

I don't have CFS, but I do have a lot of fatigue. The medications I take for ADHD symptoms have really helped with that. I hope you can find something to help with the CFS.

Thanks for your replies

Sunrise I am assuming that psychometric testing covers the tests you are talking about. I mean testing is usually standardised across the board. So the same testing here in Oz as in the US or England or Europe......Thanks for the names of those tests and the links......

Jewels, I hope you also find the answers you are looking for. It is good when docs takes us seriously and want to get to the core of issues. I wish you all the best of luck.
