![]() Hello all! i am new this this forum, and well to add/adhd alltogether. I have been recently diagnosed with adhd and am...well i dont know, i just am. My doctor started me on Focalin 5 mg twice a day and celexa 10 mg at bedtime 1 a day, about 4 weeks ago. I must say that i do like the celexa for my anxiety. However, she has since doubled both of my doses. I truly feel much much better on these medications (have never taken meds before). My anxiety is nearly nonexistant, and the focalin calms the clutter in my head. My only issue is that i really am not noticing a huge difference in ability to focus...?? i am in school which had led me to consult a psyciatrist to begin with. i have always had major issues with focusing and daydreaming...And i thought this would work. anyone have any suggestions? Thank you, Jackie |

I think you should tell your prescriber exactly what you have said here. If you are being treated for ADHD, your prescriber will want to follow how your symptoms respond to the medications and doses you are trying. If progress is not satisfactory, then she may try different doses or medications. She may also recommend psychotherapy or coaching for ADHD, to complement the medications. Good luck with this. It often takes more than 4 weeks to find the right meds and doses, so don't be discouraged.

It is hard when dealing with ADHD. Half of it is medication, the other half is behavior. An increase may help and if not, maybe a different medication. I had to try several before I was able to find the focus I needed. But a lot of it had to do with my behavior and the way I was used to doing things. It is an adjustment on both ends.
