So... I'm going to the Doc about my AD/HD... but I'm not sure what kind of medicine I may be put on if I am put on any... I don't know why I'm worried about it. I just like knowing what to expect... Here are symptoms I have...
Do you think I would be put on medication or what? I just want to know :/ or have some sort of idea...

It really is up to the pdoc and if he thinks your symptoms are severe enough. I think he may, but that is just my opinion. There are many medications out there with little side effects. I have severe ADHD combined type and we have very similiar symptoms...but I am always early for everything

However, the only way to be sure is to get professional testing done. The doc will not only assess whether you have ADHD but he will also try to ascertain whether any comorbidities are involved. Remember that it pays big dividends to be well informed. So read up on it as much as you can. |

Hey Bats and Butterflies, Sounds like something I could have wrote about me ![]() However, I must say how impressed I am you were able to keep your thoughts for that long of a list. Seriously, I asking for help here, did you write it on a piece of paper first? My posts (and thoughts) are always jumping around. Thankfully, the people I am close too usually can follow the attempt at converstations I have (and I talk way too fast for people who don't know me to understand too ![]() I can't help with meds. When I was diagnosed they also diagnosed me with depression and an anxiety disorder. My T thought my anti depressants would subdo the ADD and anxiety disorder too. No go. No other med tried. Good luck, mj ![]() |

It definitely took me like 20 minutes to write it because I would write like two then go do something... then I decided to color code it... then I did something else... yeah. haha

So did you discuss your symptoms with your Pdoc or T yet? There is no definitive test for ADHD but there are a bunch of testing they can do to try to pin down if the symptoms are of ADHD or something else (or ADHD and something else which is common if you are an adult).

I don't have a T or Pdoc right now... I'm making an appointment for when I get out for winter break next week... and I'm an 18-year-old college freshman.

Adhd is often comorbid with anxiety and depression. I think that now ADHD should be treated first, preferentially with stimulants (that sure gave me a better life and relieved both mental and muscular tensions), and then the rest.
Your symptoms sound very ADHDish, but only a pdoc - preferentially a specialist - can corfirm and help. |
