Im switching meds and I havnt taken my medication in 4 days and I feel completely confused, lost, unmotivated. I am constantly wandering, I zone out so quickly and I can;t do homework. I feel like everyhting is impossible and I just cant do anything. My thoughts are constantly running and I ****ING FLIPPING OUT.
I just need to change onto these new meds ASAP. I feel so out of control atm. Im also avoiding homework. I used to never do homework, zone out in class. I started straterra and I became more aware or my studies, i completed homework on time, my test and quizzez were wayy better and my report card was very satisfactory to me. But the affects it had on me were worse than they were helping so now Im changin them but I feel so UHHHHG right now. Anyone have this problem when changing meds? |

What are you going to change to and why is there a delay? Did you take yourself off the Strattera or did your pdoc do it? If your pdoc did it he/she should have prescribed something different as soon as he/she took you off the Strattera.
Strattera had bad effects on me as well. i vomitted daily from it. I have found that Adderall has worked wonders with no side effects.

From what I have been told stimulants like Vyvanse, Adderall, Ritalin etc. etc. are better choices, but once again this is anecdotal. I think you need to tell your doctor. What med are you changing to? |

You could be having bad effects from suddenly stopping the Strattera instead of tapering it. I'm sure that doesn't help. Just do one thing at a time. Don't worry about failing. Just pick up the pencil and work methodically down the list. Your doc really needs to refill you a DIFFERENT ADHD medication, like Adderall, Ritalin, Vyvanse, Focalin, etc etc... Why did he drop the ball on that? |

Brennan, the first med I took for ADHD was Wellbutrin, and I found it very helpful. My PNP was really pleased with the results, but after a while, she wanted to add a stimulant because she thought this would help manage my symptoms even more. So I take Wellbutrin and Vyvanse now, and she's right, that combo is even better. But Wellbutrin on its own did help me a lot. Hang in there.
Since you stopped taking Strattera abruptly, that might be contributing to your current symptoms. I hope they pass quickly. When do you start the Wellbutrin?

I started the wellbutrin a week ago maybe almost, but apparently im not supposed to feel anything for 6 weeks because its slow release?? But yeah she advised me to take it because I was becoming depressed and the straterra helped extremely!! but there were effects such as sleep disturbances that were worse than it was helping. I thought I had add but the thing is shes never told me I had add or adhd shes just giving me medication so im not to shure if i have it or not??
But i know for SHURE the straterra was a blessing and a curse because it helped my with running thoughts and concentration emensly, im daydreaming/zonning out so bad my thoughts are constantly running, and im so out of it, i wish this stuff would work faster ![]() |
