I have bipolar disorder and I was talking to my psych about how stupid I feel, and after I explained my experiences he referred to me a adhd specialist. He in turn gave me two meds to try and since they didn't work my regular psych has given me two more. They don't seem to be working either. My psych has given up on the adhd and thinks maybe it is part of my bipolor instead.

I have taken many online tests and such and convinced that I am adhd so how do I go about getting treatment. I am 53 and I think I have had it all my life.

I am so unfocused, and can't remember anything. I am sooo difficult to work with that no one wants to work with me. I feel stupid, and alone. This, in turn makes my depression get worse. I don't even read anymore because of this!!

Also, I have no friends because of the frustration that comes from dealing with me.

Does this sound like adhd? or does this sound like part of my bipolar?

Your doctor apparently seems to think that all cases of ADHD respond to medication. In fact, many don't. Has your doctor suggested getting help like organization training, etc.?

Not all individuals will respond to ADHD medicaiton treatment. What did the ADHDspecialist say?
There are many parts of bipolar that can also present as ADHD. Sometimes racing thoughts can be confused as being unfocused and bipolar depression can be confused with lack of motivation and organization common with ADHD. Did you try stimulant medications or non stimulant?

What meds have you got? It is adviced that the symptoms causing most trouble be treted to stability first - can take several months. Then comes the rest.
You need to ask what is going on and demand an answer that really informs you.
