Ok, I'm gonna try this out, haven't posted for a long time. I am an ADHD poster child...just barely squeeked by about a week ago and went and got my meds. I have taken Prozac for a lot of years and now take Abilify also. The other medication I take is Vyvance. I was starting to really divebomb because I had not been taking the Prozac and Abilify...periodically when I start to feel better I go off the Prosac and Abilify and end up slowly spiraling down and then rapidly - almost before I know it am at the brink. The Vyvance helps me feel more in control at work and not so overwhelmed... the Prozac and Abilify make me feel more like a normal person. The combination helps at least keeps the desperation at bay. But I still feel it and am afraid of it.
I also have to ration my Vyvance (I take 50 mg)which adds anxiety. My doctor prescribed it for work but I end up having to decide do I take it in the morning or save it for in the evening. It helps me keep order and its really wearing me out trying to decide when I'm going to need it most. But I feel lame asking her to up my dosage. Ugh! don't know what to do! I have an appointment in a few days!

Well the worst she can do is say no. If you don't ask, it will definantly be a no.
I know vyvanse also comes in 70mg , i'm currently on 40 but have been all over the place from 30 to 70 and 70 worked best for me, but currently im in midst of a pdoc change so my answer was "not yet" .. Not sure exactly where you are in Texas, but I know Child and Family Guidance is usually pretty good at listening. the one in the plano office that is. The only other place I've been is Metrocare/lifepaths and that reminded me too much of Parkland's ER. lol. But I hope you're appointments go well, and you can get some more help for this!

Just ask for a higher dosage. Don't worry about feeling lame about it - that's what they're there for, and they won't know that the meds are wearing off and you need a higher dose unless you say so.
I always have had to take ADHD meds in both AM and PM, even with extended release. Whatever my AM dose is, it's worn off by 3:30, so I have to take it again at 2 if I want to keep my head on straight all day. There's really nothing unusual about this, so let the doc know how it's going for you and they can adjust so you have a combination that's more functional for you.
