I try and understand why we all just cant be normal. Why do we have to be so different in our way of thinking and doing. I love the good in me but would really like to kick the bad to the curb.

Welcome to the forum!
And I'm sorry your going through this, you're definantly not alone in this!

Do you have a therapist and/or psychdoc?
Are you on meds, and in therapy for ADHD/ADD?
In my expeirence the right dose of ADHD med has pretty much been a miracle drug for me. and my "bad" were actually all impulses, i did it before i thought. So the med stops that impulse, and lets me think clearly. But this definantly isn't the only solution, and could be diffrent for anyone else.

Maybe we all are "normal", but the world isn't. The industrial revolution was faster than human evolution and we are now living in world we are poorly equipped for.

And the world would suck if everybody was the same. Humanity would probably die out within couple generations too.

So use the good to the maximum. Work some of the bad. Differentiate "bad" from "not normal" (yes, my ADHD traits drove few teachers up the wall, but later in life nobody really cared. I still struggle with being disorganized... but let's face it, some of it are personal traits. If there was "enjoy dry and dense text on economic more than Vogue Italia" pill, i'd be all over it. Fact is... we aren!'t meant to be enjoying boring things. Some just have higher tolerance of it).

Venus's quote says it all....
"It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society." Krishnamurti

The question isn't really why we can't be normal. The question is really why we can't be ourselves?

My version of Krishnamurti's quote is this..."Stupid" judges "Intelligent" to be "Retarded". The society is "stupid" to higher levels of consciousness and treats it like it's handicapped, needing meds and therapy.

No, we just need to be ourselves and we are fine. The real healing for ADD/ADHD/Bipolar/Aspergers, etc...., is to be ourselves. We can never change our gifts nor our limitations, but come to see both and live according to them.

I self healed through awareness of the big picture... http://www.profound-self-help.com/adhd-self-help.html

I'm no longer trying to be "normal". My blogsite is a testament to my growth.
Thanks for this!
