Anyone notice any effect on ADD symtoms? Would like to hear from those Dx and those not yet Dx. Saw it at the corner store and bought the large can. Will be trying it out tomorrow just for shites and giggles. Curious to see if anything changes. I realize it's a silly attempt but it's merely an experiment. Anybody?

...Hi quizzickle...

...I've always craved stimulants...Drank a lot of coffee and red bull...I don't know if it helped my adhd but I liked being hyped up...I know that the effects from caffine and sugar are short term...I would crash and burn after a few hours... Were as most adhd/add drugs are time released and last longer...Plus to much red bull makes me...Lets just say it's a great laxative...

Thanks for the reply Edge. Tried it this morning and wound up getting a migraine aura an hour later and a [thankfully] low level migraine. I'm very cautious about what i eat since i developed repeated migraines a few yrs ago. Cut a lot of 'trigger' foods and now they're very rare. I'll attribute this one to the Red Bull...might have been the caffiene or whatever else is in there. Shoulda thought first but there it is. No Red Bull for me. Haven't noticed anything other than the headache tho. Damnity damn damn...oh well.

Anytime I get an energy drink or a lot of caffeine my anxiety goes WAY up. I once had two monster drinks and a coke and went to the mall (where I already have anxiety) and I was shaking and started freaking out. Looking back I think it was probably a panic attack. :P

Sounds like it B@B. Caffeine doesn't seem to be recommended in large amounts anytime. I remember i started drinking coffee pretty late in life...25 or so. I had two large at a coffee shop talking to my bro-in law and a couple of hours later kept wondering why I felt so horrible. Sorta like a panic attack but this was years before I had a real one. T'was th' bloody caffeine! Realizing that calmed me down considerably. I thought I was having heart problems at the time. Mind you my first full blown panic attack dwarfed that caffeine feeling. Panic attacks righteously blank blank! You def. had too much stuff in your system and were in a stressful place...i'd say a likely panic attack. Don't do dat no mo! *grin*

I did not drink coffee until I was about 30. I never knew how much I needed a jolt in the morning, but I did not know I had ADD either. I take Adderall and still drink my coffee, but only about 2 cups a day. I drink about 1/2 the amount, post Adderall, than I used to consume.

If I have one, it calms me down, but if I have 3 or more, for some reason I get more hyper. I don't know about coffee for me, because I don't drink it, I don't like it, But I do like coffee ice cream for some reason, which calms me down. And alcohol, I don't have it anymore because I don't like side effects that I have. I'm off the wall, when I have to much of it.

I have two cups in the morning, usually im pretty good feeling in the morning. Its just about 2-3 hours after im up that i get really tired. Maybe i should wait till i start getting tired to drink it. I think its more out of habit that i drink it, and it tastes really good.
After that i switch to coke or Pepsi, but i don't ever feel anything off of the caffeine. Unless it builds up in my system all day and starts kicking in at nite so i can't sleep, idk

I thought i read some where that people with add/adhd if they have caffeine it could slow them down. Like reverse affects.
Does anyone know if that's True?
