I'm new here as well. I'm about to turn 21 and I've been to the doctor over the past 2 years for chronic back pain, insomnia, depression. A few visits ago she asked me if I was depressed and I said no, because I didn't FEEL like I was. I showed sympotoms of ADHD when I was younger, it was pretty obvious that I had it but I was never diagnosed. My mother never got me tested because it wasn't common back then and she said she didn't want me taking medications. My doctor would also ask me (earlier this year) if I thought I had a mood disorder....like..I didn't know much about them so how was I supposed to know. I just said probably not, and she left it alone. I was there for my insomnia and back pain. Turns out, I'm going to see a psychiatrist on Tuesday this week, because my doctor told me she thinks I have ADHD. I'm very interested in medical stuff, which may seem odd to people, and sometimes I wonder if I WANT there to be something wrong with me. Is it normal to feel like that? OH, and I also ramble a lot in case you didn't catch on. I'm sorry, it's probably the ADHD talking. I'll make another post about my appointment in the next few days, because I see a lot of others are asking about medications that are working for them. If I get put on any, I'll be sure to post about it so others can read.
