I had add, I've had it all my life. I take adderall. When i was on the extended release i noticed it works better than the regular one. But with no insurance i can't afford it. So i take regular release. I was taking 30mg twice a day but since i haven't been able to sleep at nite since the Dr took me off my nitetime med to help sleep i cut i down to only 30mg in the morning.

I feel the meds are working, i can start and finish things, concentrate better, memory is a little better but could use so help, im not as impulsive, etc.

But im tired all the time. It don't matter how much or little sleep i get. When i lay down for a nap during the day i can't sleep, pry due to the meds.

At nite my mind races about everything, from one thing to another. During the day it does but don't really bother me to much.

Im getting sleep at nite even though it takes me awhile to fall asleep, i just don't know why im tired during the day?

I was diagnosed with ADD at age 43 and for 3+ years now I've taken Generic Adderall. Before I knew I had ADD I had issues sleeping because of what I call my minds "Slide Show". I would lay down and my brain would just start flashing one thought after another, continuously. I sleep MUCH better since my diagnosis, but I believe I started sleeping better when I took my last dose of Adderall "Later" in the day. I used to take my last around 2pm and pushed it off until about 4pm. This helps me be better at home and I think when the meds wear off I'm tired for sure, but the "Slide Show" becomes an issue again.

I take 20mg at 5am, 20mg at 10am and 10mg at 4pm...

Thanks for the advice, maybe i should start cutting them in half and take them through out the day. Never thought of that. Maybe i won't be so tired.

Could you be experiencing depression? I have a repeated history of depression and I get sooooo tired, like can't get out of bed... and insomnia at night too.

Have you tried taking iron? I find it makes a huge difference.
