There may already be a thread discussing this somewhere, but I didn't find it...

Besides medications, I'm wondering what other things people have done to counteract the effects of ADD/ADHD. I know that personally making lists and keeping a strict schedule have really helped me to keep on point and manage my time / background tasts much better.

Do you find this works for you?

What have you implemented to help you better navigate your life?

I follow a routine to an unbelievable level. Without my "Auto-Pilot" in place I suffer, for sure. When things change in my daily routine, it throws me off Big Time.

Structure, Routine, Repeat...

The meds help, but the ADD never goes away. Sleep is really important too. Recently I've been quite sleep deprived and it has caused my ADD symptoms to spike at a level I have not seen since before my diagnosis almost four years ago.

So...

Sleep, Structure, Routine, Repeat...

Auto-pilot, yes! I totally rely on my auto-pilot. Don't mess with my routine or I'll fall apart.

I don't mind a change in my routine so long as I know about it well in advance. Try changing my routine at the last minute and my train of thought jumps off the track and there's this big mess with the fire and and the explosions and people pointing fingers...

I Totally get what you are saying here. Force change my routine and I get cranky too, because I know the train wreck is coming and even though someone else forced the change, I'll still get hit with both barrels from the blame gun...
