I can't concentrate, can't sit still, can't remember stuff. Adhd medicines have never helped me. And even if they did I can't afford them. My husband has really really crappy insurance. I'm just so frustrated
I'm thinking about getting a second job, but I'd like to get more "stable" first ha
Sorry, I'm just frustrated and can't sleep. Needed to rant. It's not just the Adhd bothering me. I hate doctors so much. They are supposed to help. And they don't understand why I don't have time and money to pay $100 just to talk to them?
Therapy is even worse. There are good ones out there I'm sure, or else it wouldn't be a profession.
It's exhausting

Sorry to hear that you can find help with medications. You try self-help books?

Great one that is helping me learn more about who I am as an ADDer is "You Mean I'm Not Lazy, Stupid, or Crazy?!" by Kate Kelly and Peggy Ramundo. They both have ADD and I can really relate to what they write. The both founded or co-founded a life coaching groups. I would read this book before you try any others. I'm not the only ADDer I know who would say this book is awesome. The one one has read his copy 6-7 times.

You might also want to look into local ADD support groups. Local mental heath services and so on. They is help out there. I'm still learning this myself but really if you look it will be there. Try CHADD they are mainly for Children yes but I've been told they also have list of things to help Adults also or there is also NIMH.

for me, one of the biggest ways I manage my adhd is keeping routine. When things are predictable, it really helps keep my mood stable and helps me remember. So I suggest getting up at the same time, eating a good breakfast, drinking lots of water throughout the day (i didn't use to think water really matter but I can REALLY tell when I do not have enough water in my system because I get really cranky), eat all three meals, go to bed at the same time, exercise.

Having a stable routine definitely helps keep the moods in check. Have you tried any natural remedies?

Look. Avoid being sad or depressed. Look to in a positive way. Be happy. ADHD will be seen as a little problem if you see others problems. Talk to someone you trust ( for example your husband ) . Talking about your problems is a good way to be better.
And plz always remember: be positive and TRUST GOD. You are not alone . And you can benefit from some websites and forums like this forum (i like it) and like chadd or additude ...
