I was diagnosed when I was a kid. But I'm 24 now. So I got testing done (6 hours!!!!) and the psychologist diagnosed me with ADHD inattentive type. It's interesting though, because the medications never really seemed to have much of an effect on me. But it sure does hit hard on all areas of life. Functioning in general has always been a real issue. Thing is, I don't even really know what it's supposed to be like. I just know it's hard and impossible sometimes, and I don't know why. Kinda weird, anyone else feel this way?

I am glad to hear you now have an official adult diagnosis. Now you can read and find out how to deal (get around?) problems it might cause.
I can understand what you are saying. ![]() |

I was dx'd in 2007 at the age of 35. I felt relieved knowing what I was dealing with my entire life.

I get what your saying. I often wonder what it's like for the neurotypicals (so called normals).

Yeah I sometimes get them telling me to "do this" or "do that, it'll help you!" and I just gotta say "No. My brain just doesn't work that way, how on earth does it even work for you?" I can't understand how it works for them but on the other hand they think I'm "just not trying" which is quite frustrating. This still happens today.
