Please tell me your take on adderall xr vs adderall ir. Several years ago I was on ir. I went off of adderall for a few years and have recently started back taking meds for my ADHD. I was placed on 20 mg adderall xr once a day versus the 20 mg IR twice daily that I had previously.

What are your experiences regarding the two? Which did you find most affective?

Hey, haverty, I haven't taken either one. Let's hope sometime who has will come along soon. Maybe in the meantime a pharmacist could give you an idea of their difference and effectiveness.

I take ir. I've never been on xr, but I like ir because if I have a super long day I can take a third dose (or split my done over a few hours) and if I'm sick or want to sleep early I won't take the second dose.

I take two 30mg Adderall xr daily. I like the smooth delivery and the absence of up and down feelings I get with the ir. I have never had problems sleeping on the xr and before Adderall sleep was elusive. To much makes me sleepy, not enough gets me wired.

Good Luck!
