I am new here and have a 9 1/2 yr old with ADHD. I have another 504 meeting this afternoon. Board of Ed suggested that I tell the school that I would like a psychological evaluation on my kid. Apparently they can't refuse. Psychologist that David goes to told me to tell the school that I want them to use the Wexler Intelligence Skills 4th edition test and also the Wyatt2 test and not the WoodcockJohnson. He said the Woodcockjohnson test is to easy and all kids pass. These other 2 tests go together to statistically compare the difference between achievement and ability. Does anyone know anything about these 2 tests?
I need some info as soon as possible. I hope someone can help. My meeting is at 1:00 and of things its my birthday...so I need a present of info from all of you.
Thanks

Happy birthday :-)

Here's a comparison between the two, Woodcock Johnson (WJ) and Weschler's "intelligence" test (WAIS) (from Woodcock Johnson). Notice right off the bat that WJ's looks at just "general intelligence" versus Wechsler's "full scale IQ" - I can see why your psychiatrist would feel the Wechsler more helpful/"complete":

I don't know anything about a "Wyatt" -- Wechsler's tests are known as "WAIS"(Wechsler's intelligence test) and "WIAT" (Wechsler's Individual Achievement Test) so I imagine you're wanting all "Wechsler" versus WJ/Woodcock Johnson. So, your psychologist wants you to compare the WAIS to the WIAT, "Intelligence" to "Achievement" -- does that make more sense to you?

Good luck today!
