I am new here, and new to even talking about mental health.

I introduced myself over in the newbie forum
I cannot post a link, but it is titled Hello, I am Lee - Catchy, huh?

The short cut, is I have been given an initial diagnosis of being ADHD with a side of depression.

Yesterday, Monday, I went to my doctor to get a prescription that my new Psychologist suggested on Friday. My doctor agreed to try Wellbutrin XL for a month. He told me the prescription would say twice a day, but to take only once a day for the first week.
We talked about there being no generic for the XL, but I said I could handle the enormous co-pay for a month and then we would talk about switching to the non XL so I could get generic.
I got a call from the pharmacy saying that my insurance was requiring pre-authorization to get the non generic XL. I called my doctor and we decided to go ahead with the non XL version and he authorized generic.
I go back to the pharmacy, but only to find out that the doctor never changed the dosage from the XL script, and the non XL does not come in the dose on the script. They call the doctor's office, gone for the day.

Is there some cosmic force out there that does not want me to start taking meds? lol

Hopefully, today will be better.

@LeeT72, I feel this is hard for you. From my side, you are managing pretty well this issue. First step covered. Congrats and keep focusing.
