Does anyone who has taken Daytrana know if you eventually stop taking it? I've gone from 2 patches, to one and a half, to one, and my mom wants to try half.

I haven't stopped taking daytrana (I've never been on it), but I've stopped stimulants many times with no significant issues. You don't even really need to taper off. Don't cut your patch in half!! It's really, really dangerous. Ask your pharmacist or doc if you don't believe me. Ask for a lower dose or another med if you want to taper off. If you cut the patch, you cut the drug molecules and could erroneously release more medication than you intended, resulting in essentially an overdose. Don't do this.

How many pharmacists have you talked to about Daytrana?

So, just ask for a lower dose?

None, actually, but I'm a physician. I don't deal with daytrana much. For my peds patients I usually prescribe either long-acting Ritalin, concerta, Adderall or vyvanse. If it were me and I wanted to taper off of daytrana, I would tell my physician this and ask for a lower dose to begin tapering off.

Are you a pediatrician or psychiatrist or what?
