Forgetful, difficulty remembering details, mind all over the place. Very easy to lose my train of thought. Anxiety. Takes me twice as long to do a given task than the average person. I forget what I went into a room for frequently. Scatter-brained. Absent minded. Spacing out all the time. Continually daydreaming and thinking about the past. Do very air-headed type things at work and in other areas of life frequently.
I do not know if I have ADHD or if I am just have poor self-control and poor self-discipline? Would like to know your thoughts. Would also like to change. Want to be focused, efficient, effective, competent, organized in my thinking. Thanks, Cal |

Those symptoms could overlap with a variety of diagnoses. To me, it sounds like anxiety or depression. Do you catch yourself daydreaming or thinking about the past and try to redirect your focus? With sustained effort, it is still impossible for you to redirect your attention to the task at hand? And to what degree is this impacting your ability to function in daily life?
I would just like to say, as someone who has been diagnosed with ADHD, that a diagnosis will not solve the problems. Medication may help but when it comes down to it, you will still need to learn the skills. My advice to you is to try as many natural remedies as possible before trying ADHD medication. Try to get a consistent amount of sleep each night, eat healthy, make sure you spend some time outdoors, get some exercise, take breaks in between tasks, etc. Also- you could try an organizational coach- many are open to helping individuals with focus and organization whether they have a diagnosis or not. If you are really concerned, I recommend seeing a professional who specializes in ADHD who can prescribe the proper medication so as not to exacerbate the anxiety, and who can direct you to other resources if necessary.

I think it could be add or adhd, you should get evaluated to see.
