i've been on countless different meds for a few years now. as an underweight teenager with terrible adhd, it's been hard to find a suitable medication. i'm currently on 150mg of walbutrin and 90mg of concerta, and lately i've been wondering what would life be like off meds completely?
i wonder this not out of confidence that i can control myself, but more out of defeat, because i have yet to really feel like a med has truly helped me and my extensive issues with focus and impulse control. and truthfully i'd like to not take medication if it isn't doing much.
any advice?
thanks!

I have ADHD and I am on a very low dose of Ritalin. I was diagnosed as an older adult. I seem to do better on smaller doses. I am concerned that you are on a very high dose of Concerta. Sometimes too high of a dosage of a stimulant can cause worse symptoms and it can feel as though the med is not even working. Sometimes it is best to back up on stimulants. I would talk with your prescriber about this. Wellbutrin is also a med to help ADHD'ers when depression is part of the mix. So you are medicated for sure. You may need some changes in meds or dose changes. I would not just quit taking your meds without your prescriber's approval. I hope you stay the course and keep trying.
Thanks for this!
