I was curious about what it feels like to be in a hyperfocus? My friend does it with boyfriends and netflix programmes but seems to lose friends, fail homework and pretty much neglects everything but her obsession.

That is just what happens though i have no idea what it is like to be in one?

Sounds more like she is being obsessive rather than hyperfocused. Being obsessive can be quite distracting to all things other than the object of the obsession. It basically means she can't concentrate on anything other than her object of obsession which could be anything from a boy to video games or even a particular subject. It can make living with normal daily activities impossible.
