My son is 10 years old and he was diagnosed with ADHD.
I am looking for a treatment which does not involve medication.
I would like to hear from your experience about some alternative treatments that really work!
I am especially interested to hear about computerized games related to ADHD, as my son is really into computer games. I just wish I could find some treatment involving this.

Welcome to Psych Central. I am sorry your son is suffering from ADHD. I did find natural remedy info as you requested here on Psych Central.
Psych Central - Search results for Natural treatments for ADHD

Besides being an active participant in helping oneself at Psych Cental, many people also help support each other by replying to other people's posts. Many people who are actively involved in Psych Central find it helps take them out of their own problems to develop empathy for others. And their problems are more manageable the more they help others.

Many people here at PC find they can share these feelings and what they are going through with the confidence that people go through similar things and can empathize. So many forums are offered as well as Chatrooms (after you have 5 posts or comments on others posts). Depression chat meets on Thursday night at 9pm EST and Anxiety Wednesday at 8PM.

You can also be an active member in other ways like supporting others in their questions, reading articles and posts http://forums.psychcentral.com that are applicable to your area of concern.

Please feel free to private message me or any of the Community Liaisons by left clicking on the name in blue to the left of their post) for questions or just to share.

Hi There!

I drink energy drinks or caffeinated soda.. that seems to be less harsh and more natural in comparison of he stimulant meds.
but as a kid, it didn't have a good reaction to any of it. (mainly because i am autistic. but since there was no option for me to have it (in my parents eyes), the next closest thing the pdoc could come up with was adhd.) the stimulants help a lot more (Actually i can't function as independantly as i do now, without them...sadly...) as an adult.

But some other therapy's could be horse therapy, or maybe even tho he doesn't have autism, some of the skills and things learned in ABA or other autism therapy's could be of some benefit to him.
depending on what he struggles with most, there may be specific computer games geared towards those struggles. Or if he has a ipad or iphone, there are some pretty useful apps on them. I dont know of any that is address ADHD as a whole. but there are a lot of skill building apps and helpful schedules and such that could be helpful?

In my opinion, if the ADHD is pronounced or severe, there is not "alternative therapy" that is especially likely to work.

You could try looking as his diet or something, but there is not good science behind such strategies- yet some people swear that by eliminating artificial food chemicals etc, that they get improvements.
