I recently was prescribed Vyvanse 30mg about a week ago to help with my ADD. I struggle with motivation, focus, concentration, boredom, and organization. I am also diagnosed with depression and anxiety and I'm on Wellbutrin 100mg for that. When I started the Wellbutrin I started waking up and feeling great. When I first started Vyvanse I felt nothing. My psychiatrist suggested if it doesn't feel strong enough take two 30 mgs of Vyvanse, which kind of throws me off. After 3 days of not getting a great experience I upped to two 30s. That day my heart beat fast, dry mouth, and I didn't sleep well. I didn't have better motivation, concentration, or organization. The next couple days I took the same amount and felt nothing like on the 30mg. I make sure I eat a good protein breakfast and I drink plenty of water. I know it's early on but I'm suspect Vyvanse might not work well for me. The reason I say this is because in the past I was taking Adderall(amphetamine salt) and could definitely tell a difference. I was wondering if anyone else has gone through anything close to this and wondering what their experiences might be and any suggestions they have..

not much knowledge of Vyvanse but found these articles that describe side affects.

I take Vyvanse 70 mg. I noticed it right away - better focus and concentration and also had more motivation and energy.
But, when I was on too low of a dose, it did not work. I started at 40 mg and worked up to 70 mg.

My pdoc told me some adults actually need above 70 mg to work, but insurance might not cover it. Do you take any other medications that might alter how Vyvanse works?

You could try 70 mg and if that does not work right away, you probably need something different or a much higher dose.
It should not take any time to work, except for the hour after you take it.

So after a few more days of trial and error I figured it out, kind of. 30 mg is absolutely too low I get now results. With 60 mgs if I eat a big protein breakfast within 30 minutes to an hour after I start to feel a little more amped up. I am able to complete tasks better but only if I start them in the first place. I feel like it is working now but it doesn't cure all of my add problems. I still have a little OCD, licking the car door multiple times, and I'm not more organized, I just throw my clothes or anything on the ground when I'm not using them. So all in all the first week plus has been a learning experience and I feel like I'm getting closer to the desired results. The only other medications I take is Wellbutrin 100 mg but I doubt that would interfere. Thanks for the replies.

I have been given as RX for Vyvanse ( for BED not ADD). I plan to start Saturday( so I will be home, instead of at work incase I have any bad side effects). Also, I take Wellbutrin SR (150mg/AM and 150mg/PM)
I also must admit I am rellieved that someone else is taken the two combo because I read it may not be a good idea.

I heard that Vyvanse is not as strong as Adderall. Maybe you are used to it so Vyvanse wont do much. Also, I am suprised the doc went from 30mg to 60mg, I am pretty sure there is a mg somewhere between to two. But then again you have taken adderall so maybe it makes it different. Good luck though, I am looking forward to the effects of Vyvanse.
