Hi. I am new here and i would love some advice or feed back.
This is me: I have been in college for 4 years now. only finished 3 classes. I am so excited when i enroll and determined that i am going to do this right this time. However, i start not attending like i am suppose to, leaving early, and the stop going at all. When the teacher speaks it is like i am listening but i am not taking it all in. its pretty much like he is saying blah blah blah. im also looking at details of the teacher like does he have pimples, what he is wearing, etc. my gpa is literally a 1 and i have been suspended from 3 school. I constantly forget things, appointments. i will put something up somewhere in a good so call place so i will not forget but, i forget and tear the house up looking it. i forget to tell my kids to brush teeth or hair and then when i take them to school i remember when they get out the car then stress how am i going to get the knots out of her hair. im not very talkative. i am pretty much to myself, i do have a BFF but she will reach out to me but i always come up with a excuse. when im in class i am frigidity and always have something moving. these are only a few things but i would like some outsider opinions. |

Sounds like you already know you have ADHD/ADD...those are many symptoms. You can take a self-test online. If you want a diagnosis, you have to go see a specialist who will give you testing. Then if you are diagnosed, you can get a prescription.

Hi,
This sounds pretty familiar to my story. I did well in High School, just because my parents really pushed me. But as soon as it was up to me, college was a bust. By October of my first semester, I'd dropped out and lost a full scholarship. It was the same cycle of excitement, disinterest, boredom, then avoidance. When I later went back to get an Associate's degree, I think I did as well as I did then because it was extremely difficult, and I was working full time. I was too busy. Now, I am changing careers and have the opportunity to spend time at home not working to study for various certifications. What do you think I'm doing right now instead of studying? I find that I'll be studying practice tests online, and I get about 5 questions done before I'm off doing something else random. I'm the luckiest woman on earth getting to change my career with my fiance's support .. and I've wasted so many hours already. Some days I hate myself for thinking about how many hours I've wasted and what I could have accomplished. Instead I'm sitting here stressed out because the floor needs vacuuming and somehow I've managed to eat an entire container of cookies in one day. It's maddening! |

Vyvanse, Adderall, Adderall XR, Ritalin, Concerta, Strattera (this one isn't a stimulant)...I'm not on medication for mine right now but I've always taken Adderall XR and it works great for me. It will cause insomnia the first couple of days, and anxiety, but that wears off quickly.
Visit the medications forum if you want more info...
