I've been feeling better and much more clear since I stopped taking meds but my motivation has become worse. It's been a major issue I've struggled with for a couple years. Literally nothing I've thought of helps motivate me to do, well pretty much anything. I'm lucky if I brush my teeth or shower which I do somewhat regularly, at least enough to where it isn't a hygiene issue, I don't have dirty teeth and I don't smell or feel dirty I keep myself clean but it's barely cutting it. I should be doing it daily but it's more every two or three days at maximum. I need to exercise and move a lot more and get homework done that's where I suffer the most. I'm supposed to graduate with a few Associates degrees in the spring and that doesn't motivate me at all to get any schoolwork done. Nothing does. I don't know what to do because I want to do it I just have zero motivation. Any suggestions or advice?

If meds are out of the question there are two things you could try.
1. When motivation is low you could try doing school work in very short bursts with some kind of moving around in between. 2. You might also find that working with another student nearby would help you stay on task. |

are you doing your degree online? i did my associates 1 years worth of work at the college, and the other half online. online college was great, i got to do it in my pjs. i suggest you just try a little harder and think about how you would have to do work at a job and put effort into getting dressed like buying new clothes too for yourself and you would have a reason to get dressed and ready.

I physically go to school just this semester my classes are online. I don't have money to buy new clothes but I usually don't wear nice clothes just around my house because my dog gets things messy easily and it's not comfortable for me.

Not completely, I've tried a couple but I prefer not to be on anything.

I am trying modafinil for this (partially for this problem of motivation, and partially for ADHD), right now. I will keep you up to date with how it works out.

Personality I think motivation and ADHD go together, mostly because of dopamine. Thank you I appreciate hearing how it is for you!
