I'm trying to decide if I should start my 5 year old with autism and ADHD on Ritalin. We're thinking about a small dose before school 4 days a week. I'm pretty uncomfortable with it but I also really want him to not struggle so much in school.

So my question is for now adults who took it growing up. What were your experiences? Did you hate it or think it helped you? Or think it had averse effects on you?

Also welcoming any opinions/advice from parents treating their children or anyone, as I hash this decision out. Thank you!

Is he a physical autistic kid? If he is, I would try it to see if he calms down.
