i have a new diagnosis of add and so much makes sense to me now. constant boredom, sensory overload, zoning out, problems focusing, fidgeting, being able to start things but not finish them, etc. wondering if anyone else is dealing with this kind of thing

Hello werewolf_7: The Skeezyks has never been officially diagnosed with anything. But I can certainly relate to the problems you listed. I'm quite certain there are a lot of other members, here on PC, who can relate as well. So you're in good company.

Welcome to PC!

I felt very similar when I was first diagnosed. It was like I could look back on my life through a completely different perspective. I wasn't weird like I had previously thought. I had a diagnosable condition.

I hope you are off on the right step in your treatment or whatever journey you might be taking.

it's just nice to feel some validation for your struggles, sometimes. felt at times there was something really wrong with me or i was going crazy. but it's good to know others deal with this kinda thing too.

This is a forum for those who suffer from ADD so I can assure you most people posting here are dealing with "this kind of thing". Every persons symptoms are unique, not everyone is the same. The issues you mention are the more common symptoms, however, some suffer more than others with certain symptoms. But the ones you mention, although the more common ones, don't even put a dent into the struggles one with ADD has to endure, especially a older adult who has gone undiagnosed most of their adult life. In my case being diagnosed at 38 answered a lot of questions now at 53 I am still paying the high price of all those years of being called lazy, stupid, unmotivated, different, not like everyone else, the list is endless. A lifetime of failures, beatings, humiliation, bullied, disrespected and left out ripped my self esteem to shreds. Although being diagnosed was a relief and a big weight off my shoulders it came at an age where it has become to late to repair the damage and find success. I have learned that many of my ADD related traits are more of an asset unfortunately because I don't think or process information like so-called normal people I'm looked at as the "odd"one. Very few people have had the ability to recognize my abilities, sadly, none of them family.
