I've been a "typical" ADDer for over 20 years... You know, heavy problems during my school years, trouble with getting my life straight, a heap of anxieties e.t.c... But now it's like I'm cured.

I've made progress on the psychology part, initially with personal work and then with the help of a local ADHD community. Deciding to leave science for graphic arts did wonders for my focus. But the big surprise was when I changed diet, quitting sugar and white bread and eating more protein - it made a HUGE difference, very fast (I still eat sweets rarely, and it's impossible to quit pasta or potatoes, but I suspect it'd do wonders to my brain)

So now my symptoms are quite below the "ADD threshold". Still am a little unfocused, but in the way "normal" people are. And I have a bad habit of showing up late for my classes - but that's all there is to it. For at least a year, I haven't had any "real" symptoms. It is probably the happiest period of my life!

So - after sharing my little success story - I'd like to ask: if the symptoms aren't there, does it still count as ADD? (Having to follow your dreams and a proper diet in order to be ok doesn't really count as a medical prescription... )

Actually, things happened, and I realized this is a wrong post. I've realized that, unless I keep a strict diet, good sleep program, and a constant eye on factors that affect my psychology, I still come crashing down. I literally can't relax if I want to remain "normal".

I still feel very proud and very lucky for being able to keep it under such a good control, though! It's a fragile success, but a success still
Thanks for this!

Good to hear of your success, even if it may be a bit fragile. That's wonderful you have found an ADHD community, I long for something such as this.

Try to look if there's an official psychology organization in your city about it. That's how I found it - I went into their FB team, mailed for help, and at some point they notified me that there was a support team about to start. You have high hopes to find something, since a disorganized place like Greece managed to make a group
