It's definitely not as mad as crustal meth or cocaine. It is an amphetamine so it has similarities to those things. Honestly I was on it for a few years and it was the best thing for my ADHD. It did not make me high and I was not addicted to it. It did eventually wear off though. I am not taking any medication now ( I had a baby and I have just decided to stay off it). I think some doctors are just idiots. Sadly Adderall is a highly abused medication. It creates a stigma thanks to the idiots who use it to get high.

It's a phetamine just like meth is. Many dr's and experienced users have compared it to that and it's highly abused. I actually have adult ADD with bipolar (yea I won the lotto on that one) and I can't even take anything or it will make me manic. So I just have to deal with it Adderal.

Sorry, I have the same thing as you, I am just careful and my Doctor says to call immediately if I start to become manic

Another same same. I take straterra because I am one of those idiots that abused adderall to get high and cause hypomania. Then at night I would wash 150 mg of trazadone down with a bottle of wine to get to sleep. That was not a healthy cycle; my survival instinct kicked in and I came clean to my primary NP. I am about two and a half months clean and sober now. Adderall works if you are careful and are not prone to substance abuse. Straterra takes a while to start working (about 2 weeks) and instead of kicking you in the pants for motivation it helps you steer. It is working for me.

It's an amphetamine/narcotic. Carrying without a prescription is a felony no different than coke or meth. It can also disqualify you from a job without a prescription. Ill tell you what all these users have in common, acne and really bad teeth. I got off that stuff. Best decision ever made, feel free to message me to discuss further long term affects

It's an amphetamine. For people with a brain structure not similar to that of someone with ADHD, it affects them by causing hyper, off the wall behavior, but it causes an opposite effect in those who actually have ADHD (such as myself.)

Thank you for your feedback. I was on adrenal for a few years, they have it in short supply so I've had a hard time without add meds... I'm in AA, I abused amphetamines, cocaine, alcohol and other **** in the past... Been clean and sober now 24 years, so it helps accepting my situation now... I was prescribed Strattera but my insurance does not pay much for it.. I was on Strattera and on Concerto years ago... Concerts was the best, followed by Strattera, been also on Ritalin caused me a lot of anxiety... I will continue to revisit my situation and see what happens...

I have been on Adderall for over a year, as prescribed without any consequences of addiction, abuse, or dependence. Studies have shown when taken at therapeutic doses it is very unlikely to cause addiction. Abuse potential is there, and if you are prone to substance use it may be a bad idea to use it. However other studies have shown having a substance use disorder shouldn't discredit you from having a trial of adderall. Most studies also show that those who treat their ADHD adequately actually are LESS LIKELY to have drug issues later.

Methamphetamine is much more potent and the street drug is given in quantities well beyond therapeutic levels. It's not fair to compare the two. It's like comparing a diamond and coal. Essentially, they are the same but their chemical configuration (carbon) makes them VERY different. Don't get bogged down into thinking Adderall is like doing meth.

The only other thing I have to say about it is this -- Adderall has been a huge asset in my life, and I am grateful I took the leap to give it a try. I've been without it, and been fine (albeit less productive and my ADHD symptoms do return). I know it's something I need to help me function. I also know it's something that is a quality of life improvement for me -- not exactly a necessity. Take information you get with context. It's not the devil, it's not a miracle pill. It is potentially something to help. There are non-stimulant options to look at as well. ADHD can be managed. Don't give up hope on that in the end either.

Just wanted to put my two cents in. Hope you find this helpful.

Adderal is a drug that acts similar to those two drugs you mentioned.

However, "Adderall is used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy. Adderall contains a combination of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine. Amphetamine and dextroamphetamine are central nervous system stimulants that affect chemicals in the brain and nerves that contribute to hyperactivity and impulse control." Adderall: Uses, Dosage, Side Effects & Safety Info - Drugs.com

Hope this explains a bit what you're concerned about.
