I started on Adderall IR in Aug 2013. 4 months ago I switched to Dexedrine.
2 1/2 weeks ago I noticed edema in my feet and ankles. It did not get better over the weekend and I saw my doctor on Tues the next week. He ran all the tests, I mean all. Nothing wrong, he could find. 2 nights later I wake up with pain and numbness in my arm, hand, shoulder, shortness of breath etc I call him back and I'm told to go to the ER and if I don't go its ama ( not verbatim). Go to the ER for 4 houra and they cannot find anything wrong. See a cardiologist 4 days after the ER (all swelling, and other side effects are gone) and he cannot find anything. I had switched to adderalll the day I went to the ER to see if it helped. I am now uncertain if the Dexedrine IR caused this, which doesn't make sense unless something in the filler was the cause? Anyone have experience with this? Not sure if I want to call my Dr tomorrow and go back to Adderall as I find dexedrine to have less side effects. Also, I gained 55lbs at my Doctors office. Then was 30 lbs less at the Cardiologist. I talked ro my prescribing Dr. And the best information he couls give, "its very rare. If the problem persists stop taking your meds for 3 days". I had the same thing happen to me. But I was taking stimulants for a few years so I do not think it was related to meds.
Too much sodium (salt) can make your feet and hands swell ALOT. It happened to me after eating way to many deshelled postacios. |
