Managing him can be a nightmare. He was just recently diagnosed and just recently started a med which I don't think is working very well. He has angry outbursts and is irritable, hyperactive, defiant and lacks attention.
His psych knows about my issue, but I'm thinking he maybe has both things?

Can anybody offer advice on raising a child with ADHD or what you have done as a child that was successful in managing the symptoms and being successful in school, sports, etc.? What were your childhood symptoms?

Thanks

There are more. But hopefully these will get you started & be of some help.

Other than positive reinforcement by rewarding good behaviour, I don't know a great deal about adhd. But I do know that there are selective diets and many natural supplements that can have positive effects. Something you would do well to speak to your treating doctor about.

Be kind & Generous to yourself vern.

Has your child be tested for bipolar as well? Many children are misdiagnosed as ADHD when they are really bipolar. I am just curious since you stated the ADHD meds don't seem to be working.
