I was Recently diagnosed with ADHD and I started medication about a month ago and I’m not sure if I’m experiencing improvements or not. I’m on holiday break right now and I’m on Concerta 54mg, so I haven’t had much time to try this out while I’m in school. My doctor said that most people tend to be on around 54-72mg but those on 54mg are usually young so it could work for me or I might need to be bumped up again when I see her next.
What dosage of meds are you on? How long did it take to hit the “sweet spot” of adhd meds?
Thanks for this!

I've been on different meds for ADHD (to be honest I can't remember them all) but at the moment I'm on adderall and at 30mg. It seems to help for the most part but I would like to go up on the dosage. however, my doctor wasn't thrilled with the idea of going up and said there wasn't much more. I dunno how true that is but I guess I'll stick it out. Hope it helps for you. Good luck!

The one that works best for me was 15mg Focalin XR. What's interesting is that I got more side effects with 10mg as opposed to the 15mg. I has some success with 100mg of Strattera but it wasn't nearly as effective as the stimulants I have tried. I've tried almost every stimulant on the market but I got side effects on all of them, Focalin just had the least amount of side effects.

It really depends on your body chemistry. What works for you may not work for other people and vice versa. It can be a lengthy and frustrating process but I highly suggesting keeping at it until you find the right med and dosage because it can make all the diff.

That's really unprofessional why not go further than 30 on Adderall. You take tabs or caps? I honestly think the B.S. from the FDA and the recommended maxes is total trash.

Did you find any of the meds were better or had less of the stomachache variety of side effects? I really struggled with this one on Intuniv, and would personally rather be distracted than have the stomachache.
