Hi everyone,
I'm new here.
When my 12 year old son was in first grade he was diagnosed having ADHD. I went full blast into reading everything I could get my hands on about the subject! I soon discovered I am ADD and have been my whole life!!!!
That was some 5 or 6 years ago and it was such a relief to finally KNOW what my problem was all through school. I was a terrible student!

So then when it was determinded my son was ADHD, the emotions that came with that were unreal! It brought back all the bad feelings I had as a kid, lost between the cracks.
I didn't want my son to go through what I went through. He repeated 1st grade and was on ritalin for 2 years, and yes it helped! Once he went into 3rd grade he was doing so well I took him off the med. He continued to do well through 5th grade. He also recieved an IEP (individualized education program).
Now he is in 6th grade middle school and no longer qualifys for the IEP. He tested too high. UGH.
You may say "that's great" but I knew he would have trouble with the increase work load and all the many distractions of middle school, not to mention his mother is ADD and I am SO unorganized it's not even funny!
I can't keep the house clean or pay the bills on time much less keep track of all 3 of my kids in their school stuff! Plus I work 4 days a week and on my days off I take care of my aging mother! And lets not forget I am a single mom!
Ok it sounds worse than it is. I do have plenty of support. I have a wonderful live in boy friend and he helps a lot. I also have a great relationship with my ex MIL . She keeps the kids after school till I get off work. And they see their father plenty as he lives with his mom.

So since my divorce I no longer have health ins. I was taking adderal and it helped me quite a bit. I was wondering if anyone has tried any of the alternitives such as Focus Factor or Focus ADDult, or anything else?

Anyway I am done rambling. Glad to have found this forum and look forward to hearing any feedback.
