I was bullied at school because I was too shy to speak to a lot of people. I used to have trouble making eye contact. I understand what you are going through

I've had so many negative reactions telling people about aspergers that I don't tell people anymore. It's never been a good thing for me. Among the people I've told, my credibility with them is nil. I just want to be treated like any other person so I let people assume that now, even if they assume I'm lying because I won't stare into their eyes.

I'm sorry to those people but staring into someone's eyes is extremely intimate/intense and that's something I will never be able to control. In some countries it's even considered rude and I think that's the natural way to go about it... animals stare at each other as a threat.
