Just decided to list a few things that push me over the edge. Little, stupid things that no one else seems to notice. Feel free to add to the list.

· Florescent lights -- They buzz. They flicker. they brighten and dim. And that's when they're working properly.

· Perfume -- potpourri, scented candles, soaps, whatever; while some of it doesn't bother me, if it isn't a flower but smells like one, odds are I'd rather sniff mustard gas.

· Pop music -- repetitive, electronic, jarring, inescapable because it's everywhere. It's the audio version of a florescent overhead light with a bad ballast.

Even numbers -- I like odd numbers. I like prime numbers more. If there are three or five ice cubes in a glass, fine (actually five is fine; three is awesome). Two or four and I won't drink it. My skin crawls when I encounter even numbers of stairs, pictures on a wall, pages in a book, knocks on the door. I have to sleep an odd number of hours each night. [Seriously, that one's weird. If I wake up after six or eight hours, I'm still exhausted and have to sleep an extra hour. If I wake up after five or even three hours, I'm fine.]

There are more, and I might list some later, but I'm curious as to what kindsof things others here can't stand.

Hello. I don't like even numbers either, because I have to divide them constantly by 2. Till I get down to 2, then divide that by 2 to get 1.

Right there with you on the lights and perfumes. If I'm shopping with my mum, and we go to a shop which has perfume isles or something (Home Bargain for instance, they have the first isle and a half dedicated to shower gels, soaps, perfumes, etc) then I have to run through them and meet her at the other end otherwise I get totally overloaded. I find it very hard to focus when there are strong smells around. They can also make me feel pretty physically ill.

I like pop music (not recent pop music, but pop music from when I was a teenager), but I also like pretty much all music except Rap music (there are a few exceptions). It depends on where I am and what I'm doing though, I can't listen to music and have a conversation.

On the numbers thing, I'm the complete opposite to the pair of you, I hate odd numbers! Odd numbers make me feel so uncomfortable and the only time they are ever acceptable is if there are two odd numbers next to each other because two odds always add to make an even. I always keep volumes on an even number, I count my food as I eat it to make sure it's in even numbers, I pretty much do everything in even numbers. If we're eating dinner and it's something we may have a slice of bread with, then there has to be enough bread out for every person to have a piece without them having an odd number. So like if there are two of us then there should be four slices of bread on the table. Four is my favourite number.

I prefer even numbers, but I wouldn't say I got unduly upset by odd numbers... Even numbers just feel... rounder? :S (2 is my favourite number)

I'll tell you what smells turn my stomach though- bacon, coffee and cigarettes... bleh!

Haha, I love the smell of bacon, and coffee. Not so much the cigarettes since I quit smoking though.

To me, even numbers are square and horrid, odd numbers are round and artistic. Most people prefer even numbers so I was glad seeing someone is like me.

I am OK with most stuff I shouldn't. I' no fan of heat or sour tastes. I don't like most fruit because they are sour as heck to me. I'm not too bothered by sounds and light. I'm quite oversensitive to change. I don't mind visual impression per se but it wears me down.

haha funny
I used to always have 3 Ice Cubes in my drinks.

anyway....besides that.

ok so I am just wondering...is this supposed to be about just small things in your life that annoy you and can't stand.

err ...can this be a globally national thing that we cannot stand...because I have many of those...??? Just wondering...

but I do have some small pet peeves. I just have a lot of huge big national things on my mind....

I don't know...

LOSING WHAT I WAS POSTING BEFORE I WAS FINISHED because of phone interruptions!
Having to log back in every time that happens!
Trying to understand & keep up with technology (I like to keep my life as simple as possible due to my zero b.s. tolerance!)
There's more but I've got to get kids up for school & don't have time right now.

- water dripping
- not being able to get things lined up properly
- unevenness
- dents/imperfections in walls
- not being able to get the damn screen to go all the way back up
- fighting with the water tap to get it to the right temperature
- mistakes in patterns
- dust - especially the little bit of dust in the corners that are soooo hard to get out!!
- putting away laundry
- the bed being unmade every morning. It should just stay made up all the time! (and I did, in fact, use to sleep on TOP of my cover for that precise reason...)
- strong smells
- hearing alarms in the other apartments

....... okie dokie. That's just what came out of my brain in less than a minute. LOL!

God yes! I use a laser level to hang pictures, and it drives me crazy being in someone else's house or a doctor's office or somewhere and seeing uneven pictures. I HAVE to level them. I want to rehang them so they're spaced properly.

As far as unevenness and dents in walls and such, I feel compelled to fix these things too. On a positive note, obsessing over things like that is why I'm a contractor today.
