Does anyone else on the spectrumjust get depressed as heck because of the hyperstimulation? I have visual snow that is present even with eyes closed... and auditory hypersensitivity that makes it so My ears actually can hear the natural hair signal feedback static alllll the time. And the skin sensitivity makes any sleeping a challenge no matter how hight the thread count... I use 1800 and still have sensory issues with that!!!!
Sometimes I just want all of this to end because I can not stand the internal noise. ![]()

Yep, I can relate to this!
For some reason heat makes me really depressed, like during the summer I couldn't stand it. I find also that certain noises make me stressed as hell and certain clothes make me stim. It is depressing that we get these stimuli problems but I guess that's part of being on the spectrum.

I sympathise with you as I can relate to what you're saying. I hate getting so depressed from over stimulation.
On the matter of bed sheets, I actually switched to 'jersey' sheets over woven cotton sheets a few years back and they make a big difference. I hate woven cotton sheets against my skin, I just can't sleep on them. Jersey sheets are knitted instead of woven and they feel much softer against the skin. Funnily enough, after my diagnosis I was doing some research about hyper sensitivity and found several places recommending jersey sheets for that exact reason, so I was ahead of myself on that one haha. |
