Hello. So I finished my testing 2 weeks ago, and I'm so anxious waiting to see if I will or won't be diagnosed with autism. How did people cope with waiting for results? I am kinda dying because I want to see if something explains me and my awkwardness and the things with it. I know I'd be very high function but other than that... This was for a psychoeducational assessment, which also checks for LDs, which I believe I have dysgraphia. I know autism has a comorbid rate of LDs, or even intellectual disability, but I think I'm gifted, which this test is also suppose to look into. I'm so anxious about this.

Also, what happened when the psychologist or professional after? What did do or recommend? I'll be getting some accommodations for school. I already have a lot. Are they going to recommend me to therapy? I'm really curious too. Thanks for your responses in advance So anxious waiting for my test results to come back.

Social anxiety disorder, GAD, OCD, and panic attacks

Lexapro, 10 mg

Hi. Sorry I don't have much help to offer but I feel for you and what your going through. The waiting! Did they tell you when the results would be ready? Do you have a follow up appointment? Maybe they'll have some good therapy for you to target certain issues; that would be excellent. Are you in high school or college?

Take care,
El

Eeks... I'd have hated it if I had to wait for mine... I actually got the results halfway through the actual assessment, because they said it was so clear in me that they could confidently tell me what they'd decided.

Just remember that no matter what diagnosis you get, you're still exactly the same person as you have always been but with more resources available to help you with whatever your difficulties are

I got the diagnosis on the day, but I hated waiting for the written report. It didn't seem real until I had the piece of paper.

Now I have it's better.

Ask them when you should know and chase them up!
Sounds like it was thorough which is good, I think I have co-morbids but they weren't assessed

I know the results will be ready in. 4-6 weeks. So 2-4 weeks from now. I think they will recommend therapy(ies). And I'm in high school.

Sadly, they said they wouldn't tell me until the written report.

Everything was assessed that's part of neurodevelopment disorders. That's it. No mental disorders. She said my psychiatrist probably got everything (me: ha ha). But other than that...

Just waiting now.

Which test did you take (do you know the name)? Maybe you can already find out what your score is, depending on the test.

Never worry too much about things being or not being socially acceptable (I just read it in your signature). I have schizomania/bipolar and we can be a lot worse: (sometimes still or always) knowing things are socially "unacceptable" but still continuing being so, because what we have to say or do is so important. People should be more accepting of differences. Actually, textual Internet communication services such as these kinda level the social playing field because of information needed to know how your actions affect others is lost: we are all in the same boat and still we manage.

I hope the better, more attuned, treatment will help you to feel more confident in social settings and what I wrote is somewhat helpful.

Like, a lot of test. The Conners test I think was the name of one. I did some of the Wisp 5. Not sure what else. There was a lot though. Tests memory, math, reading, writing, processing speed, attention, concentration... She did one specifically for ASD. That was the most awkward one for me. I kept doing my anxious stim (playing with things on my clothing) and she noticed it too. I felt really uncomfortable.

And thanks. It was insightful.
