People don't understand the way I think and I feel like people aren't accepting of my differences. I just wish more people would read about and understand autism/aspergers especially those close to me cause they just don't seem to understand. This is part of who I am and I want people to accept me. I take pride in being on the spectrum. I feel good about it but sometimes I feel like a loser because of it. I've never told anyone this because I feel like people think pride is a bad thing but what's wrong with feeling good about yourself and liking yourself? I'm a little different than other people and I want that to be ok. I just think a little differently. There's nothing wrong with me.

And there is nothing wrong with you at all. I do think it is a shame that we get treated like dirt because we think differently and don't fit neatly into a box. I'm sorry that people don't get it and make you feel bad....those people are the worst. I think that's the worst about being on the spectrum is NTs thinking we are odd, stupid or just nuts because we think differently and see the world differently. There is nothing wrong with it, if we all thought the same, the world would be boring and dull. And don't be afraid to be proud to be on the spectrum. It's like you said, it's part of who you are...own it,that's one thing no one can take away from you.

Awwww, it is terrible to not be accepted by those people you love the most. You would expect people to accept who you are, and even accept you.

The reality is ... some people don't understand. Since they don't understand, it will be hard for them to accept you.

Instead of focusing on them, focus on you. Do what makes you happy. Accept the fact that you exist for yourself, not for them. Love your positive traits, and love your flaws too. In the end, what matters is how you feel about yourself.
