I suspect I may qualify for autism, however the last time I brought it up to my psychologist, she said "people would have realized sooner." So I let it go. But it's really important to me that it be considered. I don't do well generally with verbal argumentation, but I am extremely comfortable exposing my ideas through writing. I am considering printing up the criteria and annotating it with what I think corresponds to my experience.

The problem is I'm not sure how to explain to my psychologist that I want her to consider autism and I'm not sure of how to express that I suspect it. Should I read the text out loud to her? Give her the text to read while we are in a session (our sessions are 50 minutes, I think)? I don't think I should make her read it for the next session because that would invade her personal life.

If anybody has suggestions, I would be immensely grateful. (By the way, my psychologist is usually very nice and open- that was the only comment that ever dismissed my concerns, in case anyone is concerned about that.)

Ashley :)
