I'm an AvPD. It ruined my education life. I'm an average student, but I'm struggling very hard for my degree. Today my friends are in jobs and I'm still NOTHING. Whenever I come out to do something, I think 'Others are looking, and not liking me', so I go back, always keep going back, so I'm lagging behind.

I know that there is nothing negative the way others are evaluating me. I know it, but still it's hard to let it go. Its always with me. I want to say a word, then 'would they like it?', I want to start a conversation, then 'Would they feel bothered?' 'Maybe yes...' So I go back to save myself from embarassment.

Now I'm far far behind, alone. What is most frustrating I know the problem , but can't fight it.

What has worked for you in the past? Just because your friends are all ahead of you doesn't mean you won't get there. It takes longer for some people
Thanks for this!

You can fight it! You just have to take little steps, which can sometimes be hard to find. But little steps being repeated until they're habit will eventually lead to slightly bigger steps.

Just pick an end goal, and work backwards of what you need to be able to do to reach it. Then take a step back from that and figure out what you would need to do to reach that step. Go all the way back until you find yourself at a step that you would be able to start pushing yourself to do.

I think I became more and more sociophobic as I grew up. The more aspects of life I learned, the more anxiety and negative thoughts developed in me regarding those aspects. Feels like there is another person inside me who never fails to find out negative points about myself and put those ahead of me, so that I could not move ahead!

I think I am kind of the same way as far as getting more socially phobic over time, like things keep building up and weighing me down more. Try not to compare yourself to other people and always remember that you CAN fight it!! It's just not always as easy as we all wish it was.
