If any of you remember my previous posts, I was very anxious that I'd be misunderstood and just labeled socially anxious and that was that. But nope, today I finally got the diagnoses I thought I had confirmed, and hearing and seeing the nurse tell me that they completely agreed with my self-diagnoses was absolutely awesome xD. It definitely boosted by confidence, because I was always so afraid of being called a hypochondriac. So I definitely wanna thank you guys for helping me put words on my symptoms and convincing these people it wasn't just social anxiety, but avoidant. Big stone fell from my heart today

Cant really see how this is great news, for me I thought it would be better to hear that you have a social phobia which can be healed with therapy..now though...oh well. Happy for you anyway

Er...there is therapy for BPD. Several kinds actually. Ok so no cure but that's the case for many other mental health disorders as well. There's no 'better' kind of mental health problem...they're all equally challenging. I should know, I have over four.

Hoasis, I'd be unhappy to hear if it was only social anxiety when I know that so much else is holding me back, and I can't improve my angst as long as that is the case. If they didn't recognize the fact that I have deeper issues, it would mean I wouldn't get the help I need. The diagnosis is only a help to describe what I already have, not to hand me over more problems .

Thanks, guys

Hi Everyone, I got my diagnosis of APD a month ago along with agoraphobia. It's a relief knowing what "it" is. Took me 2 years to talk to my doc before I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Hope everyone gets theirs as well.
